Product Description

Melting Industry Sodium Cryolite Na3AlF6 Trisodium Hexafluoroaluminate

It is used as a flux to dissolve alumina during electrolysis. Cryolite is also used in the abrasive, ceramic and glass industries.

Fluoride produces granular cryolite by reacting dilute hydrofluoric acid (HF) with aluminum hydrate (Al(OH)3). The H3AlF6 acid is then converted to the sodium salt by an ion exchange reaction with a sodium chloride solution. After solid-liquid separation, the cryolite slurry is calcined in an internally heated rotary kiln. The final product is in the form of light pink particles. The ground cryolite is obtained from the mass of the particles after spin grinding.

Synthetic cryolite is available in 1 ton large bags or 25 50 kg paper bags on pallets.
