Product Description

At room temperature, Aluminum Hydroxide Powder Al(OH)3 has a high chemical stability. After it reaches 200 degrees, it begins to decompose endothermically and releases three crystal waters. Each gram of aluminum hydroxide absorbs heat up to 878 J. At a temperature of 300 degrees, two crystalline waters are lost and turned into boehmite. The heat-absorbing dehydration process of aluminum hydroxide retards the combustion of the polymer.

Aluminum Hydroxide Powder acts as a radiator, slowing down the rate of combustion, and at the same time releasing water vapor, not only dilutes the burning gas, but also participates in the reaction of the condensed phase. The endothermic decomposition is based on the fact that when aluminum hydroxide decomposes, it absorbs heat in a large amount, and when it is decomposed by heat, it only emits steam and does not produce poisonous, flammable or corrosive gases. Therefore, aluminum hydroxide acts as a flame retardant filler.

Application

Aluminum Hydroxide Powder are high white/high purity aluminum hydroxide, with high whiteness, high chemical purity, stable physical properties, and uniform particle size. Mainly used in flame-retardant fillers for resins, synthetic rubber, and plastics, aluminum hydroxide flame retardants can improve the flame retardancy, arc resistance, traceability, and strength of products. It can also be used in wires and cables.

Under the action of the flame, the Aluminum Hydroxide Powder filled in the polymer decomposes and absorbs part of the heat released during the combustion process, which is equivalent to removing the heat from the polymer, thereby lowering the temperature of the polymer and slowing down the degradation rate. This dispersion-absorbing chemical cooling is the main reason for the flame retardation of aluminum hydroxide. The water vapor released by the decomposition of aluminum hydroxide can dilute the concentration of gas reactants in the flame zone, and has a certain cooling effect.

Aluminum Hydroxide Powder is filled into the polymer to help form a carbonized layer during combustion. The carbonized layer can both block the ingress of heat and oxygen and can also block the escape of small molecules of flammable gas. Of course, the latter two kinds of flame retardant effect is much smaller than the first one. Aluminum Hydroxide Powder can effectively slow down the burning rate of the polymer, reduce the amount of smoke generated by the combustion, and can also catch harmful gases. From the use of the situation, aluminum hydroxide and some organic additive flame retardants, will not produce corrosive combustion products, and will not evaporate and exudate from the polymer.
