Properties: White crystal or powder, tasteless, with subacidity, hexagonal crystal system specific gravity of 3.08, or 2.665 (17°C) and hygroscopicity. Slightly soluble in water and hydrochloric acid, and its solubility will slightly increase with temperature. It can be decomposed into potassium fluoride and silicon tetrafluoride in ignition, or potassium fluoride, hydrogen fluoride and silicic acid in hot water.
Applications: For wood preservation, fabrication of ceramics and all kinds of optical glass, smelting of lead and magnesium, or used as raw material for synthesis of mica and preserving material.
